METABARPARK Project

Finished project previous to BIGPARK. This project tested new high throughput sequencing technologies in marine hard bottom communities of marine National Parks using environmental DNA metabarcoding. Its aim was to characterize the biodiversity that usually goes unnoticed with conventional monitoring methods, and to study the impacts of seaweed invasions on benthic communities.

PopCOmics Project

Research project led by members of the marine Benthic Molecular Ecology team. It uses genetic techniques and methods for the study of species, populations, and communities at different levels of complexity: complex communities, holobiont communities, ecosystem key species (engineer, vulnerable, commercial, invasive), in Mediterranean ecosystems.

CHALLENGEN project

Finished project led by  members of the Marine Benthic Molecular Ecology team. The ChallenGen project had the objective of applying new and classical genetic techniques to three challenges in the framework of marine benthic investigation: to study and mitigate the problem of invasive species, to develop new techniques for biodiversity evaluation, and to predict changes on the communities in a context of climate change.
